What Is Salicylic Acid Macrogol Peeling?
“I keep getting acne, and I can’t get rid of the blackheads in my pores…” If these concerns sound familiar, salicylic acid macrogol peeling may be a treatment option worth considering.
This peel gently removes excess dead skin cells and may help reduce inflammation, making it particularly suitable for acne-prone and oily skin.
It is also recommended for people concerned about firmness, radiance, dullness and visible pores. Some patients notice that their skin looks smoother, brighter and more radiant immediately after treatment.
Although chemical peeling has long been used in medical settings, it remains popular because it can address a variety of skin concerns.
In this article, we explain salicylic acid macrogol peeling, its expected benefits, recommended treatment combinations and what to expect during the procedure.
What Is Salicylic Acid Macrogol Peeling?
Salicylic acid macrogol peeling is a chemical peeling procedure that removes old dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. It helps support skin turnover and the formation of a renewed outer skin layer.
1. Salicylic Acid Works on Dead Skin Cells
Salicylic acid helps soften and loosen dead skin cells, allowing excess buildup to be removed.
However, salicylic acid used alone can have a strong peeling action. Traditional salicylic acid peels could penetrate more deeply into the skin and were more likely to cause irritation, pain and redness.
2. Macrogol Acts as a Protective Barrier
Macrogol is the base used to carry the salicylic acid. By dissolving salicylic acid in macrogol, the formulation is designed to keep its action mainly within the outermost layer of the skin rather than allowing it to penetrate deeply.
Because salicylic acid has a strong affinity for macrogol, absorption below the stratum corneum is minimized.
As a result, this formulation is intended to lower the risk of inflammation and post-inflammatory pigmentation while providing exfoliating benefits.
It also allows relatively high concentrations of salicylic acid to be used with less irritation than conventional formulations.

Recommended Treatment Combinations
Iontophoresis (Vitamin C and Tranexamic Acid)
Iontophoresis uses a mild electrical current to help water-soluble ingredients, such as vitamin C, penetrate the skin more effectively than they would through ordinary topical application.
Delivering these ingredients using iontophoresis may increase their penetration compared with simply applying a toner or serum.
Laser Toning
Laser toning uses low-energy laser pulses applied evenly to the skin to address melasma and dullness and promote a more even-looking complexion.
Peeling removes accumulated dead skin cells and pore debris. Combining it with laser toning may support a smoother-looking skin surface and help manage pigmentation concerns.
Potenza
Potenza is a microneedling-based treatment that creates tiny channels in the skin and, depending on the treatment method, helps deliver topical ingredients to targeted layers.
Exfoliating the skin before microneedling may help prepare the surface for treatment. The combination is used to address acne scars, visible pores and fine lines, with the aim of improving overall skin texture.
IPL (Including Lumecca)
IPL (intense pulsed light) uses broad-spectrum light to address concerns such as dark spots, redness and uneven skin tone.
Combining peeling with IPL may help improve the appearance of pigmentation, redness and dullness. It is often considered by patients seeking a brighter, more even complexion.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Will my skin feel smooth after just one treatment?
Some people notice results after a single session. However, for more noticeable improvements, we recommend repeating treatment approximately ten times at intervals of two weeks to one month.
Q. Is the procedure painful?
You may experience mild tingling or stinging during treatment. Please tell the practitioner if the sensation becomes uncomfortable.
Q. Are there any additional treatments you recommend?
Because the skin can become dry after peeling, we often recommend combining it with iontophoresis on the same day.
Laser toning, Potenza or IPL may also be considered as part of a skin-rejuvenation treatment plan. We determine which treatments can be combined and the appropriate timing based on your skin condition.
We also offer combination treatment packages that include peeling and laser treatments.
